Career[edit | edit source]
Season 15[edit | edit source]
Smartys Power was originally recruited after the completion of the Season 15 by the bid team, the OFG Warriors. During this time, Smartys Power nominated himself to play for South Australia for the Season 15 State of Origin Series in which he played all 5 games of the carnival. However, the Warriors bid fell through and Smartys was without a team. Having seen the potential of this young, up and coming superstar, 4 teams were racing to secure his services.
On November 28th 2012, Smartys Power announced that he would be joining the Mount Buller Demons for his debut year and beyond.
Season 16[edit | edit source]
Smartys Power was a regular member of the Demons line up playing all 19 matches including his first final in the Elimination Final against the Alberton Swamprats. It was a remarkable debut year for the young gun making the Centre-Half Back position his own. In his 19 games for the Demons, he had 8 clean sheets with only 15 goals and 12 behinds being kicked on him throughout the season. Smartys occasionally pinch-hitting in the ruck and in the forward lines kicking 8 hitouts and 3 goals. Smartys Power excellent defensive display awarded him with the Mount Buller Demons's Season 16 Best Defender award.
Season 17[edit | edit source]
Looking to back up his form in his debut season last season, Smartys Power once again started the year strongly only conceding 4 goals in the first 5 games of the year. His best game of the season game in Mount Buller Demons's narrow win over Gold City Royals where he accumulated 18 disposals, 6 marks, 71 Dream Team points and restricted his opponent to 2 goals. Smartys Power had a slightly more difficult season in Season 17 but still manage to only concede 23 goals and 22 behinds across the 29 opponents he played on. Although not as good as Season 16, Smartys Power still played a pivotal role in helping the Mount Buller Demons to the Season 17 Minor Premiership and touted very unlucky to miss out on All-SFA selection at Centre Half Back according to experienced teammate, Logger.
