The Fred Medal is the medal awarded every season in the Sweet F.A. to the player who kicks the most goals in home-and-away-season matches that season.
It was known as the Alf Andrews Medal up until Season 23 after former player AlfAndrews, who kicked 85 goals from 41 matches and won the inaugural award.
Upon the passing of league Hall of Fame member and Immortal Fred it was decided to rename the award the Fred Medal.
Fred played 409 games for a total of 658 goals and was one of the leagues greatest goalkickers. He sat at #2 on the all time goalkicking table at his passing. Ironically, he never won his own award before passing away, he did however win 9 Roys FFC Leading Goalkicker awards.
